Alicia Kraig is a freelance writer for Truly Obscure. She drove her car cross country from the Philadelphia area to relocate to San Francisco in July 2010, where she’s observed many odd coincidences between her old and new lives. Alicia was a staff writer for nearly four years at ECRI Institute – an academic nonprofit health care agency in suburban Philadelphia – before moving to California. She conducted research and wrote lengthy risk analyses on clinical topics, wrote interview-based newsletter lead articles, e-newsletters, and was the editor of two newsletters, among other writing and editing duties. Alicia majored in English at Vassar College in the beautiful Hudson Valley, New York, with a focus on Victorian literature.

Alicia can be found riding her vintage Raleigh bicycle all over San Francisco, sometimes finding herself taking risks on her bike as if she were still driving her car back on the cutthroat east coast. A passionate music fan, favorite bands include the Beatles, Yo La Tengo, Pavement, and Air. Alicia’s a lifetime reader of the literary classics, with a special affinity for morose Russian authors, and is a total sucker for four-legged animals, especially dachshunds.
