A big plus for me is that it can remove pet dander, rather than simply filtering pet dander, like some other purifiers do. The AirTamer specifically addresses mold, which is a huge advantage.

Consumers may be tempted to purchase a cheaper air purifier, only to find that their electricity usage has shot through the roof, negating any potential savings. On low speed, the AirTamer uses just 5 watts of power. By comparison, a normal nightlight uses 7 watts of electricity. At the highest speed, the AirTamer uses 36 watts of energy. The AirTamer has 5 different fan speeds, providing a variety of choices.
Yet another thing I appreciated about the AirTamer is that replacement filters do not have to be the FilterStream brand. Thus, considerable savings can be found through buying other brand filters, including furnace filters. The AirTamer features a handy filter change indicator, which signals when the filter must be replaced.
The AirTamer’s control panel is another thoughtful feature. It has LED-lit buttons that have 16 different light settings. The AirTamer also comes with three aroma cartridges, in orange, grapefruit, and lavender- the latter seemed best.
The AirTamer retails for $279.99. While it is a bit pricey, it is a solid air purifying system that is a smart investment. We’ve tested out water filtration systems and vacuums offering to improve the air quality, but the Filterstream offers a nifty solution for a common city problem. Now, if only we could buy something to resolve the purse snatching and car ticketing occurrences!
