e4b: Don't Call it a Smoothie (It's a Puree)
It’s drink week here at Truly Obscure, and it’s only fair to review a drink so interesting, so unique, that the name itself is an acronym. We’d tell you what it stands for, but we’d be afraid you wouldn’t take us seriously.
Alright, alright. It stands for Easy for Busy. As in, “it’s easier for you to buy fruit in a blended, easy to drink form than be forced to watch your fruit rot because you keep forgetting to eat it”. If you’re one of those people who isn’t a big fan of ice or yogurt in your fruit drinks, then e4b is for you- no juice, but whole blended fruit. The packaging is cute (think updated, resealable Capri-sun), and though the products are not organic, they are made in Belgium- which counts for something, right?!
We tried all five of the flavors currently on offer- Strawberry Banana, Kiwi, Mango, Blueberry/Raspberry, and our favorite, the Pear Caramel. Each smoothie puree is 11 oz, and will set you back about $3 (available online in packs of 10, free shipping). And they are, truly and seriously, the best packaged puree we’ve tried. Not too sweet and uniquely textured, an e4b is well worth the cost and is easier to carry than a Jamba Juice or Robek’s.
