Lust for this GN Netcom Headset
Options. It’s all about the options, and headsets today offer you quite a few. Cordless or corded? Single-ear or two? Wrap around or clip-on, earbuds or full ear-covers?
Luckily, the GN Netcom 9350 has pretty much all of the bases covered. It comes with 3 different attachments (including the neat “around the neck” style), uses 1.9 GHz wireless so that it won’t interfere with any other signals, and boasts a really long range (they boast 300 feet, we found it to be over 200 in realistic tests). The battery life is rated at 6-9 hours, and that seemed about accurate when used at a low power setting.
It is certainly comfortable, lightweight.. and one of the coolest features: it can be used both with your PC and your regular landline. Unfortunately, it won’t connect with cellular phones or with Bluetooth devices. It’s a simple push of a button, though, to switch sources, and though the noise cancelling isn’t as robust as we’ve seen before, it’s adequate for general and office use. There are features we didn’t really need- DECT, easy multi-unit conferencing- and a few we quite liked (easy mute and volume control on the earpiece, for instance). You will need to plug in a power source, which is too bad- it would’ve been nice if it were USB powered. Other than that, it’s a great headset for dual purposes, and works wonderfully with VOIP services that we tried.
Don’t expect high quality speakers, but the mic is great, and the flexible wearing styles make it pretty unique. Unfortunately, all of the features come with a pretty high pricetag, as the GN Netcom 9350 will set you back $250-$300… but it’s worth it for a nice-looking, top-of-the-line headset system.
