Is there a Daquiriville? Or, like, a Mojitoville? I suppose not, because neither of them have the enduring power of tequila, triple sec, and citrus. Let us make things clear- we’re on-the-rocks folks, typically. Drinks adulterated by froth and crushed ice are certainly fitting for the island locale… but seem, somehow, just a tad touristy. I guess we should move to the beach.
And if we did we would certainly take our Margartitaville Frozen Concoction Maker. It’s quite attractive (rarely have we been so fond of pastels, but it quite works with the whole margarita color scheme). It’s fairly large and loud, and it isn’t cheap ($300, or about 30 margaritas at Hawaii resort prices)- but it is powerful and convenient.
Usually we’re fans of gadgets with single-purposes. This gadget does two necessary things in the service of your single perfect “frozen concoction”- it shaves the ice instead of crushing it, and it blends it. And it also kind of measures the ice, since you select the amount of ice you need shaved using the reasonably simple “one, two, or three drink” method (patent pending, we’re sure). But anyway, it still does it’s thing quite well, and we love it dearly. As will guests at your next party- because nothing is more fun than gadgets that help bring folks together, salted glasses in hand, to try and argue about the perfect margarita recipe. And yes, it can be used for plenty of other things too- the shaved ice isn’t quite Matsumoto’s, but it is easier than running to Haleiwa.
