Nespresso Aeroccino: Frothing Solution!
If you’re like us, and don’t want a massive espresso machine sitting on your counter, then you need another way to froth milk. Especially if you are using our recommended espresso maker, the AeroPress. We’ve previously looked at what was then the only-known option, the FrothXPress... which frankly wasn’t satisfactory.
Hence our great joy at unpacking and using the Nespresso Aeroccino. Bottom line: it looks great, works great, and is an answer to our frothing prayers.
Small enough to easily shelve and easily cleanable, the Aeroccino froths or heats and froths enough milk for a large latte, cappuccino, or whatever funky coffee drink you feel like. Simple, one button operation, it takes a little over a minute to do its thing. Further, it sits on a nice base which plugs in- simply put it on the base to froth, and then you can use the Aeroccino without worrying about cords. They really did think of everything- even the frothing attachments (either the wire frother or a bladed stirrer) are nifty, magnetically resting on the rotor. Finally, the Aeroccino is a pretty good-looking gadget, though not available in any colors beyond the current “black and steel”. $80 may seem a tad steep for a milk frother, but it’s a well-designed and well-built unit that is well worth the price. Especially compared with the now-dust-covered FrothXPress.
