Elite Electric Toothbrush: Makes Teeth Happy

Electric toothbrushes are one of those gadgets that we’ve long wanted to review. With advances in batteries, not to mention dental technology, we figured it was time to give them a chance!

The Sonicare Elite e7300 is an electric toothbrush that a dentist could love- it encourages you to brush correctly by beeping every 30 seconds to signal that you should move to a different part of your mouth, for two minutes total. The e7300 also features a low-power training mode to ease you into using it, though it still packs quite a punch! If you are unfamiliar with electric toothbrushes, they can be surprisingly powerful on first use- to the point where your gums can be sensitive at first.

The e7300 is an attractive little mouth-cleaner: white and blue, fairly small and easy to hold, with a long-life battery that can last for two weeks without recharging. The heads are, of course, removable and last about 6 months. They aren’t nearly as easy to change as, say, a Waterpik so it can be a bit annoying if you plan on buying one unit for two or more people. This is a side-effect of the head design, which is nicely bendable and quite solid. The only other downside, as with any electric toothbrush, is that they can be a bit messy at first- be prepared!

You’ll use much less toothpaste than you’re accustomed to, and have cleaner teeth besides. Oh, and you’ll enjoy the manual, where terms like “Easy-Start”, “Quadpacer” and “Smartimer” are discussed and trademarked! As long as you can stand the $100-120 pricetag, the e7300 is a decent buy that works great.
