Surf Report - 3/7/06

Yes, we realize it’s been months since our last Surf Report. Actually, we haven’t used the internet lately, because we’ve been, uh, too busy. So, yeah, that’s why.

Regardless, some really interesting things are happening out “there”. Several of them are groundbreaking ways to use the internet, beyond those that feature nudity, and a few of them are even potentially socially powerful. “Social change” isn’t exactly a buzzword here at Truly Obscure, but sometimes we just can’t help but want to make the world a better place. Instead, check out Ether, an interesting new service that allows you to get your own phone line, set your rates and hours, and wait for people to pay to talk to you. Yes, it lends itself to those adult businesses, but could also come in handy for therapists, advice hotlines, and the like.

It’s not just a old flatbed scanner anymore- it’s a camera! Thank god for people with too much time on their hands artists! Check out this site and don’t forget to take a look at the cameras themselves.
