Surf Report for 9/27/05
Surfing means something a little different here in Hawaii. But, I humbly submit, the concepts are closely related. Surfing with a surfboard and surfing with a modem are both largely passive activities, driven by the currents of the ocean or the Fark, respectively. They also share the idea of balance, the delicate yin/yang of the water’s movement, the thin line between “accidentally looking at an adult site” and “accidentally downloading 80 GBs of pornography”.
All of this is to lead into a discussion of how you, the humble reader, can properly imitate us. There is certainly no question of why, so let’s get down to the business of how.
For starters, to begin with, as you may have noticed, we have, indeed, a certain propensity for, shall we say, verbiage. And apparently commas. We like those too.
But we really like websites. And despite our best efforts to look busy, we still manage to find a few decent ones each week that you can visit with the knowledge that you are moving closer to your ever-present dream of becoming Truly Obscure enough that no one knows who you are. And just in case you have something you feel should be simulataneously cast into and out of Obscurity, please let us know at admin@trulyobscure.com .
I know you can do it!
Sites of the week:
http://toothpastefordinner.com/ – Daily Drawings
http://www.liftedentertainment.com/ – Skydive without the whole “sky” thing
http://www.woot.com/ – Only one deal a day, but it’s usually good.
